FAQ

Q. I renewed my membership but didnt get an email?

A. If you renewed your membership and have used the Masterlock Vault app in the past, you will use the same login info to access the range this year. If you don’t remember your login info, send us and email to southforkarchers@gmail.com to have us reset your password.

Q. When is the range open to the public?

A. Whenever there is a club shoot on the right side of the range the gates are kept open and the practice range (left side) will be available for use by the general population for free. This will occur on Wednesday nights during our summer leagues and on occasional Saturdays. Check our calendar for shoot dates located on the range. Range rules must be observed at all times.

Q. Can I shoot broadheads into my own target that i bring from home?

A. You may use the range to shoot broadheads into your own target. We strongly recommend sighting in your bow with field tips prior to broadhead use since a stray arrow could result in damage to the range and targets. If it is found that you shot one of our targets with a broadhead you will be in violation of range rules and your club membership and range privileges may be revoked.

Q. Can i shoot my bb gun at the range?

A. No! The South Fork Archers range is an archery range only. Only arrows and bolts (crossbow) are allowed. Anything else is unsafe at this location and could damage the range and targets. If it is found that you are using anything besides archery equipment at the range you will be in violation of range rules and your club membership and range privileges may be revoked.

Q. WHY DO I HAVE TO be a SFA member TO have access to THE RANGE?

A. Membership dues go towards range and target maintenance as well as South Fork Archers functions. There was a short time in the past when South Fork Archers worked with the City of Idaho Falls Park and Rec department to have the range open to the public for free. This arrangement was found to be unsustainable for both parties due to the high cost of range maintenance and target replacement, increased vandalism, and lack of adherence to range rules. The agreement with City of Idaho Falls Park and Rec soon ended and the land was transferred to Idaho Falls Power Department for future placement of a substation in the back corner. The range is now solely operated by South Fork Archers.

Q. I bought a membership, How do I get access to the range?

A. You will need to download the Master Lock Vault app on your phone. First time members will receive an email from masterlock with instructions how to activate it. Previous members will be transferred to the new year’s access list without email instruction for app set up. Addition to the access list is a manual process and it could take up to 48 hours for access to be enabled. When you arrive at the range you will need to have your bluetooth and location settings on in order to enable the lock with the unlock button on the app. Contact us if you do not have a smart phone.

Q. HOW LONG will my membership last?

A. South Fork Archers operates on an annual membership format with one year being from Jan 1 - Dec 31. This means if you join South Fork Archers in June your membership will terminate on Dec 31 of that same year and you will need to join again the next year to maintain current membership and access to the range. Memberships can be purchased at any time.

Q. HOW CAN I HAVE A GREATER SAY IN WHERE MONEY FROM MEMBERSHIP DUES GO?

A. Suggestions and concerns are always welcomed in our email, but the best way to get your voice heard is to get involved! Volunteer on the South Fork Archers board. Participate in votes sent out through email. Attend events. Help set up targets on a 3D course. Get to know your leadership. Show us you care about the club and the future of the sport of archery in our community.

 Q. WHAT IF I’M FROM OUT OF TOWN AND ONLY WANT TO USE THE RANGE ONCE?

A. Membership in the club is always preferable because it allows you to be eligible for membership benefits, stay informed on events, and support the sport of archery in the community, but some may benefit from a one time use of the range during non-public hours. These people can pick up a day pass to the range at Archery Idaho for a smaller fee.

Q. What if I cannot afford a membership?

A. Contact a board member. In certain cases we can make arrangement for membership in the club for an exchange of goods or services that help maintain or improve the range.

Q. Why does Idaho Falls Power allow South Fork Archers to use their land?

A. In exchange for use of the land, South Fork Archers has agreed to maintain and beautify the property by regularly watering, mowing, removing trash, etc. Members of South Fork Archers also volunteer their time to assist in Idaho Falls Power’s projects for the property, such as planting trees. South Fork Archers will work with Idaho Falls Power to insure the successful implementation of a substation on the site.
